About the Opportunity

We’re looking for experienced Medical Coders to use their expertise in clinical documentation and coding to evaluate and improve advanced AI systems.

You’ll develop realistic medical coding scenarios, create expert reference answers, and assess AI-generated coding decisions for accuracy, documentation support, coding guidelines, and compliance risk.

This is professional-level expert work focused on how AI handles real-world healthcare documentation and coding.

What You’ll Do

• Create realistic coding scenarios based on clinical documentation through final code assignment.

• Develop reference answers explaining the reasoning and applicable coding guidelines behind each decision.

• Evaluate AI-generated coding for accuracy, documentation support, and compliance.

• Identify code selections that appear reasonable but would not withstand professional review or audit.

• Provide clear explanations of coding decisions and guideline application.

• ICD-10-CM

Required Qualifications

• CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification in good standing.

• At least 2 years of production medical coding experience.

• Strong working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

• Hands-on experience interpreting clinical documentation and determining appropriate codes.

• Ability to clearly explain coding decisions and guideline logic in written English.

• Availability to contribute at least 10 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inpatient coding experience.

• Risk adjustment experience.

• E/M auditing experience.

• Additional credentials such as CIC, CRC, or CPMA.

• Experience training, mentoring, or auditing other medical coders.

Work Arrangement

• Fully remote and asynchronous.
