What the role involves

$153,600–$240,000/year estimated annualized equivalent
$80–$125/hour listed rate
Remote | Independent Contractor | 50 openings

Annualized equivalent is calculated using 40 hours/week × 48 working weeks. This is an estimate based on the listed hourly rate, not guaranteed annual compensation. The posting specifies output-based payment per task that meets project requirements; actual earnings depend on approved tasks, time required, and project requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Internal Medicine Hospitalists to contribute their adult inpatient clinical expertise to an AI training and evaluation project focused on medical record accuracy and documentation standards.

You’ll review inpatient medical records, assess whether clinical claims are supported by documentation, and identify missing, inaccurate, or inconsistent information. Your understanding of internal medicine, hospital workflows, and clinical documentation will help improve AI model performance and healthcare data quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Review medical records, including FHIR data and clinical notes, for AI training and evaluation.

  • Verify that clinical information and claims are supported by the underlying medical record.

  • Review adult inpatient documentation, including history of present illness (HPI), past medical history (PMH), medication reconciliation, social history, assessments, and plans.

  • Apply established review guidelines consistently across clinical records.

  • Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent information, including renal- and hepatic-adjusted dosing, medication interactions, and age-appropriate clinical details.

  • Provide structured feedback to improve AI models, clinical documentation review, and data quality.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine certification with a Hospital Medicine-focused practice designation.

  • At least 5 years of hospitalist experience.

  • Current or recent inpatient hospitalist experience within the last 2 years.

  • Strong understanding of adult inpatient medicine, clinical documentation, and hospital workflows.

  • Experience reviewing clinical notes and raw medical record data.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to apply defined review guidelines consistently.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:

  • Chart review and clinical record validation.

  • Clinical documentation improvement (CDI).

  • Utilization review.

  • Medical coding and quality assurance (QA).

  • Inpatient documentation workflows, including admissions, daily progress notes, transitions of care, and discharge documentation.

Work & Compensation

  • Engagement: Independent contractor.

  • Work arrangement: Remote.

  • Openings: 50.

  • Payment structure: Output-based; payment is per task that meets project specifications.

  • Submission requirements: Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks per week.

  • Earnings: Depend on qualifying task submissions and the time required to complete them.

The listed hourly rate is provided for reference. Because payment is output-based and task completion times may vary, the estimated annualized equivalent should not be interpreted as guaranteed earnings.

Why This Opportunity

Apply your internal medicine and hospitalist experience to help improve AI systems that interpret inpatient medical records. Your clinical judgment can help identify documentation gaps, medication-related inconsistencies, and unsupported clinical claims that matter to the accuracy of AI-driven healthcare applications.

Skills and focus areas

  • Clinical documentation review
  • Medical record analysis
  • FHIR data interpretation
  • Attention to detail
  • Guideline adherence
  • Hospitalist medicine
  • Inpatient workflow knowledge
